The Side Saddle Association EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS OPEN QUALIFYING CLASS
 
Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current Members’ Handbook
 
Open to S.S.A. Members and Non-Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. Rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and S.S.A. Championship Points.

Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior member judged to be the best turned out.
 
 
 
QUALIFIER FOR THE SIR LANCELOT MEMORIAL TROPHY
A Special rosette will be offered to the Adult member of the S.S.A. Area in which the Show is organized, who during the equitation class (irrespective of final placing) is judged to be most elegant.   That member will be eligible to compete in the final for The Sir Lancelot Memorial Trophy (donated by the late Mrs E Skelton) as the National Side Saddle Show. A member may only qualify once per season between one National Show and the next, and if the Judges first choice has already qualified a rosette will be awarded to the next eligible competitor.

Side-Saddle Costume Concours d’Elegance
The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by the horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the judge may ask small groups of riders to give short displays. 2 Special rosettes to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the S.S.A.
 
Competitors should produce a brief written resume about their costumes for the Commentator.
 
Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Donkey Classes are open to everyone whether a member of the Donkey Breed Society or not, but D.B.S. Rosettes can only be awarded to Donkeys owned by D.B.S.members.
 
DBS Championship Show Qualifier
The In Hand and Driving Champion Donkey at the Show automatically qualifies for the relevant Championship at the DBS Annual Supreme Championship on 14 and 15 August 2010 at Rodbaston College, Stafford provided it is owned by a fully paid up member of the DBS. A donkey may win more than one Championship at shows but will qualify only once for the DBS Supreme Championship Show. Where the In Hand Champion Donkey has previously qualified, the Reserve Champion Donkey will be deemed the Qualifier. *Stallions and Colts must be properly dressed in bridle and bit, with a leading rein correctly attached to the bit. No person under the age of 18 may handle an entire male Donkey (foals excepted)
